Tightrope Walker: Wish Come True

An acrobat from the US, Nik Wallenda, will hopefully be the first person in over a century to walk on a tightrope over the Niagara Falls after being granted permission which is given rarely.

Many have died performing these rare, dangerous stunts which caused such acts to be made illegal. But Canadian Officials have allowed for this stunt to take place after it was argued that such an act will pay tribute to history. Nik, 33, was born into a family of circus performers and took up tightrope-walking since the age of two. His dream since he was six years old remained to be walking across the Falls.
He said, "My dream is to walk into the mist, disappear, and walk out the other end."
Mr Wallenda said he will not be wearing a harness and his rope will be strung about 70m above the Niagara Falls. This has resulted to be higher than most competitors in the past. This daredevil task is said to be performed at 10:00pm on 15th June 2012.
Here's one of his earlier achievements:

Upping the Standards to Meet the Rest

Education demands have raised in primary schools and a lot more will be expected of the younger children. In maths they will by the age of nine will have to have learned their 12 times tables and their maths skills in general will have to rise to higher levels so that they are ready for secondary school and can intake more information.
The sciences will also get harder as they were input further, deeper studies into space and the universe and the lives of famous scientist will be looked at, such as Charles Darwin and Sir Isaac Newton.

But the demand is not only on the sciences: by the age of seven every child would have had to started a second language. This could change the whole way education is viewed at in primary schools because the bar needs to be raised to match the standards of countries such as Singapore who’s children can read the numerals.

The Fake Life: Forum Hoax

Everyone is aware that in any forums you must keep safe and be aware that some people on there are not real. But some people fake illnesses and make up stories of children who suffer from problems such as cancer, and then they post using a fake identity so that they get money and attention. These people can be anyone because the mask of the internet fits all.

A very recent case shows that a teenage girl had managed to create a intensely woven story about her daughter and their fight against cancer. After the supposed child had died the records of her were searched and it was found that neither of them ever existed.
The people on the forum were shocked; they though that such an act seemed desperate and cruel to those who believed her and tried to help her. The girl is now in therapy and is sure that she is on the road to getting rid of this bad habit.

Final Piece of the Puzzle

It has been heard that Shafilea Ahmed, a Cheshire schoolgirl who went missing in 2003, was killed by her parents. Shafilea’s body remains were later found in Cumbria, February 2004. But it wasn’t until 2010 that the sister of the victim, Alesha Ahmed, confirmed to witnessing this brutal murder. Alesha was aged 15 at the time and managed to keep it a secret for seven years. Parents, Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed, suffocated their daughter, Shafilea, at the age 17.

While explaining to the court what she witnessed, Alesha broke down in tears remembering the horrific events.
"First of all, they put it in her mouth, and then they put their hands over her."
"You could tell she was gasping for air.”
When she was asked what happened next she responded: “That was it, she was gone.”
She said: "They carried on with their hands still on her mouth, even when she had stopped struggling."
Later, the court found out that Shafilea drank bleach, in fear of being left in Pakistan. Early in 2003 the family took a trip back home, to discuss on Shafilea’s marriage proposals and whether she should be allowed to go back to the UK. After Shafilea heard their conversation about her not being able to go home, she took the courage to drink bleach. After a while, the family members heard a scream and headed to the source. There they saw Shafilea clutching her stomach, a bottle lying on the floor with the lid off. Everyone panicked but her Nan was the one who told one of the uncles to go and call for help. When asked what Farzana’s reaction to this was, Alesha replied: “she had a distinct look on her face. It was like she was thinking its better she had done it herself."
After Shafilea arrived in hospital, her mother was angry as she made a ‘scene.’ According to her mother, Shafilea had brought shame to the family, and was also told to tell people that she was drinking mouthwash but in the dark mistook it for bleach.
When the sisters were alone Alesha inquired Shafilea on why she drank bleach.
"I remember saying to Shafilea that I couldn't believe she had drank bleach and that she had done that to herself. She said ‘What else was I supposed to do?’."
This event caused damage to her throat, resulting in her not being able to eat properly for several months. After Shafilea returned to the UK, her condition wasn’t improving and eventually was admitted into Warrington hospital for three months.
The couple deny the charges allegedly murdering their 17 year old daughter.

Surprise, Surprise!

The Voice UK judge, Will.i.am carried the Olympic flame through the town of Taunton on Monday 21st. He was spotted running one mile across the town while tweeting and posting pictures of himself being cheered on by huge crowds. The Black Eyed Peas singer is the 109th runner for 70 day relay consisting of 8,000 miles of journey. One of his tweets being: “Its nuts here in Taunton...so much excitement.”
Later posting: “Crazy energy in the UK.”

As well as: “1nce in a life time experience #runningthetorch in the UK...”

About 14 hours ago when Will reached his destination, he tweeted: “I'm taking my torch home...#tweetthetorch”

He attached the picture below, a proud smile evident on his face:

Apparently the American star was well aware that he will be running with the torch for almost a year now. However Will was strictly instructed not to advertise this news on twitter beforehand. “I knew for almost a year now but I was told not to tweet about it,” he said.

Also tweeting this: “There are some secrets that are coming in the near future that I can’t tweet about or say.”
Well, this surely came as a surprise to most of us, but nevertheless we all wish Will luck with his upcoming revelations.

Can Brooks Bounce Back?

Former chief executive of News international, Rebekah Brooks, was charged over accusations that she attempted to conceal evidence from detectives investigating the phone hacking scandal. Rebekah was confused by the allegation of hiding evidence; furthermore she stated that the decision was ‘weak’ and ‘unjust.’

But Rebekah was not the only one at guilt. Along with her, husband Charlie was also charged; he simply said that the police were looking for ‘scapegoats.’

Brooks faced three charges of ‘perverting justice’ and is also alleged of eliminating seven portions of material from the news archive.

Additionally, Rebekah expresses her anger through these quotes, “I am baffled by the decision. More importantly, I cannot express my anger enough that those closest to me have been dragged into this unfairly.”

Mr Brooks, who faced 2 charges alongside his wife, also declares she was a prey of a ‘witch hunt.’

They will soon appear before Westminster Magistrates on the 13th of June, alongside former PA Cheryl Carter, chauffeur Paul Edwards, head of security Mark Hanna and security consultant Daryl Jorsling. These four were also blamed for ‘perverting justice.’ Some statements were released denying these allegations. But all shall be revealed.
