An acrobat from the US, Nik Wallenda, will hopefully be the
first person in over a century to walk on a tightrope over the Niagara Falls
after being granted permission which is given rarely.
Many have died performing these rare, dangerous stunts which
caused such acts to be made illegal. But Canadian Officials have allowed for
this stunt to take place after it was argued that such an act will pay tribute
to history. Nik, 33, was born into a family of circus performers and took up
tightrope-walking since the age of two. His dream since he was six years old
remained to be walking across the Falls.
He said, "My dream is to walk into the mist,
disappear, and walk out the other end."
Mr Wallenda said he will not be wearing a harness
and his rope will be strung about 70m above the Niagara Falls. This has resulted
to be higher than most competitors in the past. This daredevil task is said to
be performed at 10:00pm on 15th June 2012.
A phobia is an anxiety or a extreme feeling of fear when you
are in a certain situation or if u see a particular “trigger”. Phobias can be
rational like a germphobia or they can be irrational like Arachibutyrophobia:
being afraid of peanut butter sticking to the top of your mouth.
Millions of people in
the world have phobias; a somewhat common phobia is arachnophobia, which is the
fear of spiders. Most people only feel afraid if they are in that situation but
with some it can take over their life, but not to worry there are loads of ways
to get rid of a phobia.
Talking to your GP about this you can tell them and
they can refer you to Cognitive behavioural therapy. This is a therapy were you
can discuss what you are afraid of and try to ration it out. If the phobia
comes from a stressful event it will most likely go away after the therapy. You
can also be put on anti-depressants; not because you are depressed but because
it can take away the anxiety.
Education demands have raised in primary schools and a lot
more will be expected of the younger children. In maths they will by the age of
nine will have to have learned their 12 times tables and their maths skills in
general will have to rise to higher levels so that they are ready for secondary
school and can intake more information.
The sciences will also get harder as
they were input further, deeper studies into space and the universe and the
lives of famous scientist will be looked at, such as Charles Darwin and Sir Isaac Newton.
But
the demand is not only on the sciences: by the age of seven every child would
have had to started a second language. This could change the whole way
education is viewed at in primary schools because the bar needs to be raised to
match the standards of countries such as Singapore who’s children can read the
numerals.
Movies that have taken the fairy-tales and given them a
different twist has been suddenly become a worldwide phenomenon. Shows such as
‘Grimm’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ has become

who plays the Huntsman, recently starred in ‘Thor’ and the’ Avengers:
Assembled’. Kristen Stewart acted as Bella Swan in the popular teenage movie –
Twilight Saga. And Charlize Theron who is also in the new Horror film:
Prometheus.
The TV episode ‘Grimm’ takes the average fairy-tale such as
Red Riding Hood and The Piper and gives it a dark turn. Homicide Detective Nick
Burkhardt of the Portland Police Bureau learns he is descended from a line of
"guardians" known as "Grimms," charged with keeping balance
between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world. Throughout the
episodes, he must battle against an assortment of dangerous creatures, with
help from his friend Monroe (who is a reformed creature), and his partner

The weather affected the way both competitors played because
the tennis ball being covered in clay from the courts and the rain making the
courts very slippery therefore meaning that they could not make certain shots
played by their opponents and giving their opponents extra points whereas if it
wasn’t raining they wouldn’t have given away.

Some of the
lucky members of the public who attended the Ball said it was “amazing” and
“the best night of my life”. Capital has put up pictures and videos of the
night including a “tag-yourself” photo allowing anyone to log in with their Facebook
account and tag their self in the panoramic photo. Coldplay kicked of the Ball,
followed by Kelly Clarkson and the show ended the “fantastic” day with Katy

Everyone is aware that in any forums you must keep safe and
be aware that some people on there are not real. But some people fake illnesses and
make up stories of children who suffer from problems such as cancer, and then
they post using a fake identity so that they get money and attention. These
people can be anyone because the mask of the internet fits all.
A very recent
case shows that a teenage girl had managed to create a intensely woven story
about her daughter and their fight against cancer. After the supposed child had
died the records of her were searched and it was found that neither of them
ever existed. The people on the forum were shocked; they though that such an
act seemed desperate and cruel to those who believed her and tried to help her.
The girl is now in therapy and is sure that she is on the road to getting rid
of this bad habit.
Recent test have proven new theories and reasons for bone
structure loss, these test were aimed at astronauts that need to heed into
space. This is because with the microgravity in space it is very hard for your
bones to stay healthy, and that weightlessness triggers boneless.
This has
shown doctors that with ordinary peoples bone loss can be triggered very easily
as well. Prolonged bed rest can cause osteoporosis and now after finding out
this information scientists can spot the early symptoms using scans that will
detect for osteoporosis if a fracture occurs. Dr Nicola Peel of the National
Osteoporosis Society in the UK said: "It is always exciting to see new
techniques being developed with the potential to increase our understanding of
the evolution and mechanism of bone disease.
"This approach of using calcium isotopes is very
interesting and appears to have potential to detect very early changes of bone
loss.
"This could therefore have a future role in the
clinical evaluation of patients."
Despite all the drama that has taken place this
season, the cast of the hit show Made in Chelsea finished the season with all
their differences finally aside. Marking the end of episode 3, the entire cast
of Made in Chelsea were invited to the studio to take part in the End of Season
party.
The host, Rick Edwards, quizzed and interrogated the
cast about the various arguments that have been going on throughout the series,
including Louise cheating on Jamie and Binky and Cheska ruining Richard and
Kimberly’s relationship.
The show kicked off with getting right down to the
root of the love triangle including Jamie, Louise and Spencer. Despite Louise refusing
to take a seat on the sofa with Edwards, he managed to give her a grilling all
the same. Spencer and Jamie took to the sofa also and finally talked face to
face about the issue. It seems like they have both put the issue behind them,
though, but the same cannot be said for Louise and Jamie, after she claimed she
hated him in the last episode.
Rick Edwards also talked to Cheska, Binky and
Richard and they all said they made mistakes and they were over it now.
Nevertheless Richard and Kimberly ended their relationship due to the pressures
of the show.
The End of Season Party ended with a mini game show
questioning the cast’s knowledge on their own show. The boys won for a second
year in a row and won a “Cheska Award”.
Season 4 of Made in Chelsea is set to start in
around Autumn, so stay tuned until then!
It has been heard that Shafilea Ahmed, a Cheshire schoolgirl
who went missing in 2003, was killed by her parents. Shafilea’s body remains
were later found in Cumbria, February 2004. But it wasn’t until 2010 that the sister
of the victim, Alesha Ahmed, confirmed to witnessing this brutal murder. Alesha
was aged 15 at the time and managed to keep it a secret for seven years.
Parents, Iftikhar and Farzana Ahmed, suffocated their daughter, Shafilea, at
the age 17.
While explaining to the court what she witnessed, Alesha
broke down in tears remembering the horrific events.
"First of all,
they put it in her mouth, and then they put their hands over her."
"You could tell she was gasping for air.”
When she was asked what happened next she responded: “That
was it, she was gone.”
She said: "They carried on with their hands still on
her mouth, even when she had stopped struggling."
Later, the court found out that Shafilea drank
bleach, in fear of being left in Pakistan. Early in 2003 the family took a trip
back home, to discuss on Shafilea’s marriage proposals and whether she should
be allowed to go back to the UK. After Shafilea heard their conversation about
her not being able to go home, she took the courage to drink bleach. After a
while, the family members heard a scream and headed to the source. There they
saw Shafilea clutching her stomach, a bottle lying on the floor with the lid
off. Everyone panicked but her Nan was the one who told one of the uncles to go and call for help. When asked what Farzana’s reaction to
this was, Alesha replied: “she had a distinct look on her face. It was like she
was thinking its better she had done it herself."
After Shafilea arrived in hospital, her mother was angry as
she made a ‘scene.’ According to her mother, Shafilea had brought shame to the
family, and was also told to tell people that she was drinking mouthwash but in
the dark mistook it for bleach.
When the sisters were alone Alesha inquired Shafilea on why
she drank bleach.
"I remember
saying to Shafilea that I couldn't believe she had drank bleach and that she
had done that to herself. She said ‘What else was I supposed to do?’."
This event caused
damage to her throat, resulting in her not being able to eat properly for
several months. After Shafilea returned to the UK, her condition wasn’t
improving and eventually was admitted into Warrington hospital for three
months.

Children in the modern age are getting increasingly
unhealthy. With the likes of computer games and electronic devices being
brought into the world children choose to play indoors than play outside. This
results in children becoming unfit and this causes a lot of problems to their
health and there daily life.
More that ¾
of children are not getting their proper share of one hour exercise; this
includes 17% of boys and 16% of girls. It is a shock that the number is
that large because people should all know about the joys of exercise. It is
good for you and it massively improves your health.
Childhood obesity can cause
type 2 diabetes later on in life because it can develop in adulthood: now an
alarming amount of teenagers develop it in there early years. This is something
very important and needs to be tackled as some as possible. Try to make sure
that the people around you are healthy and encourage everyone to live a healthy
life.

In the rivalling match between West Ham and Blackpool that took place earlier on today (Saturday 19th May) to see who would qualify to be the third team to join the Premier League next season. It was a very active match with many changes from Blackpool in the first 15minutes but weren’t able to get a goal and then however they tried but could not succeed for West Ham were trying their hardest and their work paid off for in the 35th minute when Cole changed the score board to 1-0.
Then 3 minutes after half time Blackpool were able to equalise with determination and skill from their player Ince. With no score change in the next 30minutes, there was a right-footed volley from West Ham Captain Nolan, unfortunately he hit the cross bar and the West Ham supporters were disappointed and gobsmacked. The Blackpool and West Ham supporters were both watching the time as it approached the 90th minute of the game therefore leading both teams into extra time, when there was 4minutes remaining and West Hams Vaz Te took a shot at goal when the goal keeper couldn’t get a grip and he hit the ball to the back of the net, but he was also given a yellow card because he took off his football shirt when he scored.
It was all over for Blackpool when the 4 minutes injury time was announced and they were not able to score and so West Ham are the third team to be coming up to the Premier League next season.
